Sand Filter Systems

Sand filters are used to remove suspended solids, turbidity, and other particles from water. With a low initial investment cost, sand filters not only separate solids from the water but also protect downstream equipment by reducing the load that reaches subsequent treatment filters, thereby extending equipment life and improving efficiency.

The efficiency of a multimedia filter is influenced by parameters such as proper bed formation within the filter housing and the correct selection of surface velocity. In a well-bed multimedia filter with a surface velocity appropriately chosen for the contamination load, the filtration precision can be below 20 microns.

In both domestic and industrial drinking and utility water treatment systems, sand filters protect the subsequent treatment units and ensure their more effective operation.
