Ultrafiltration Systems
Ultrafiltration Systems
UF ultrafiltration modules, equipped with membranes having a pore size of 0.01 microns, serve as a complete barrier against bacteria, viruses, and microorganisms without the need for chemical additives.
In addition to providing excellent filtration for surface waters, UF modules enable the effluent from conventional biological and chemical treatment processes to be fed into reverse osmosis systems. They play a crucial role in wastewater reclamation projects. UF systems are also successfully used in seawater treatment, the food and beverage industry, natural drinking water production plants, microbial removal, indirect water disinfection, and many specialized processes. Custom-designed UF systems, along with MBR-based processes, are essential components in water reclamation systems.
Some resilient microorganisms, such as certain spore-forming types that can withstand disinfectants, are only retained by ultrafiltration membranes. Since the membranes we use have pore sizes smaller than the diameters of these microorganisms, we can achieve 100% removal. Additionally, it is known that organic matter in water can react with chlorine to form THMs (trihalomethanes), which have irreversible toxic effects on human health.
