It is used for disinfection to oxidize substances such as nitrite, iron, and manganese present in the water and to disinfect microorganisms like bacteria and viruses that are present or may develop in the future. In standard systems, dosing is adjusted manually. The amount of chemical to be dosed is set by the stroke value on the pump. Like other dosing pumps, these pumps can dose various chemicals.
ORP-controlled dosing systems measure the chemical amount in the water and adjust the dosing accordingly. They stop or continue dosing by measuring the set residual chemical level. In these models, an electrode (probe) and electrode housing are provided for measurement, in addition to the dosing pump and control panel.
Flow-controlled dosing pumps provide dosing based on the volume of flowing water. They operate with an attached flow meter that measures the passing flow and sends a signal to the pump, which then doses the desired chemical accordingly.
